Black Lips are back (and so am I). I know they are nothing new and this video was running the Internet since april, but the release of their new album Arabian Mountain (Vice Records) is a great excuse to first talk about them in this blog.
It was about time to do it, because I think we have to thank them for the wave of all the good garage-punk-lo-fi bands that we have seen the last two years, for their attitude and for the fun at shows. I may say this album is happier than the old ones and a little bit more into surf, but maybe it’s just an illusion due to the summertime and living beside sea.
Modern art is the perfect single to dance through the hottest months of the year.
